Dear colleagues,
UC leaders continue to work on the broader response to the federal grant suspensions. Although we have no new developments to report on that front, our department’s focus this week has been on continuing to meet with division leaders and researchers directly affected. These meetings will continue over several weeks as we aim to learn about the unique circumstances faced by each team impacted by the grant suspensions. We are grateful to the divisions who have promptly responded to requests for information pertaining to research operations. We have been heartened by the collaboration that we have experienced thus far in all of our meetings to date with impacted groups. The data and conversations with our faculty are central to shaping our department’s short-term and long-term response while we wait for a resolution of the issues between the government and the University.
As the situation continues to evolve, we encourage you to remain connected and engaged by participating in upcoming research-focused events at UCLA next week.
