Per the Faculty Appendix all faculty are required to use Blackboard (for all instructional methods), to ensure high quality instruction.  See the resources provided on this page to support your use of Blackboard and other educational technologies. Where to Find Assistance
The Center for Teaching Excellence provides one on one instructional support relating to 21st Century Classroom requirements. For assistance, contact your assigned faculty development coach or cte@matc.edu. For consultation regarding online instructional quality, Online Learning's Faculty Liaisons are available by appointment.
 
For high-level troubleshooting of errors or activity that requires investigation, Contact Online Learning. A Blackboard administrator will be in contact with you.

Recording Student Attendance
Per the Faculty Appendix, all faculty are required to log student attendance for all course types in Self-Service except for Second Chance Pell sections, Independent Study sections, and students auditing sections. For questions about the task, contact the Center for Teaching Excellence at cte@matc.edu. For errors related to dates in Self-Service, contact matc-class-scheduling@matc.edu. If you experience a technical problem with Self-Service screens, contact helpdesk@matc.edu.

Class for Web Faculty Resources
Class Collaborate is now called Class for Web. Instructors use Class for Web to conduct live online meetings with chat, video streaming, and screen-sharing tools. YuJa Video Platform Resources for Faculty
MATC has a site license to YuJa to provide faculty and students a tool for recording and sharing videos. YuJa provides web-based tools for screen-recording, automated speech-to-text closed-captioning, quizzing, and more. Ally Resources for Faculty
As of June 2024, the United States Department of Justice’s Americans with Disabilities Act requires all digital course content to meet Web Content Accessibility standards. Faculty may use the  Ally tool in Blackboard to identify, prioritize, and address accessibility challenges with its built-in feedback and support.

SmarterProctoring Resources for Faculty & Students
SmarterProctoring is a tool integrated with Blackboard to protect online tests with automated proctoring and recording of the student. It is available only for Windows, Mac, and Chromebook laptops and requires the student to install the SmarterProctoring Chrome extension. First time users go through an onboarding process with built-in guidance and support.
